Sir Eudo, who was a substantial benefactor to the abbey of Castleacre, and with Alice his wife, gave them lands to restore their mill right here, referred to as Witemill, and the pool, with that of Newmill; which Alice was daughter and heir of Watshall: this final Sir Eudo, Alice his wife, and their son and heir Sir Alexander Harsick, have been living in 1239, as seems by a tremendous then levied between them, and Ralph Prior of Castleacre; and the stated Sir Eudo died seventeenth September, 1241, (the stated Alice surviving him,) being lord additionally of Dunham-Magna and East Lexham; he gave lands in these towns to the hospital of St. Mary Magdalen by Lynn, with a fold course for 250 sheep at Dunham Magna, and his lady additionally gave land and a fold course for 250 sheep at East Lexham, which the mentioned hospital enjoys at this present day.
